Silkline Punchout allows you to shop directly on supplier websites and seamlessly import items into your Silkline cart. This eliminates manual data entry and ensures accurate part numbers, quantities, and pricing.

How Punchout Works

  1. Launch a Session – Start a punchout session from a supplier's page in Silkline

  2. Shop on the Supplier Site – Browse and add items to your cart on the supplier's website

  3. Import to Silkline – Silkline automatically extracts your cart items and imports them

Supported Suppliers

Punchout is currently supported for the following supplier:

  • McMaster-Carr

Additional suppliers are being added regularly. Contact support if you'd like to request a new supplier integration.

Starting a Punchout Session

Navigate to the Supplier

Go to Suppliers in the main navigation and select the supplier you want to shop with.

Launch Punchout

On the supplier page, locate the Punchout widget and click Start Punchout Session. A new browser window will open with the supplier's website.

Shop and Add Items

Browse the supplier's catalog and add items to your cart as you normally would.

Import Your Cart

When you're ready, navigate to the Cart Page and click Pull Cart. The items will be available to start an Order.

Authentication Profiles

For suppliers that require login, you can save an authentication profile to streamline future punchout sessions.

Setting Up an Authentication Profile

  1. On the supplier page, locate the Punchout widget

  2. Under Authentication Profile, click Set Up Login

  3. A browser window will open where you can log in to the supplier's website

  4. Once logged in, your credentials will be saved securely

Managing Authentication Profiles

  • Delete – Remove a saved authentication profile by clicking Delete on the Punchout widget

  • Re-authenticate – If your session expires, click Re-authenticate to sign in again

Enabling Punchout for Your Organization

Punchout must be enabled by a Silkline Administrator before it can be used.

Access Punchout Settings

Navigate to SettingsPunchout in your organization settings.

Troubleshooting

Session won't start

  • Ensure Punchout is enabled for your organization

  • Check that the supplier is supported for punchout

  • Try refreshing the page and starting again

Items not importing correctly

  • Make sure items are added to your cart on the supplier site

  • Wait a few moments for extraction to complete

  • Contact support if issues persist

Authentication issues

  • Delete your existing authentication profile and set it up again

  • Open a Session & Click "Restart Session" in the upper right

FAQ

Q: Can I use punchout with any supplier? A: Creating PO's is available for any Supplier. Re-Creating carts is available for supported suppliers, see the punchout settings page for the list of supported suppliers.

Q: Can multiple users share an authentication profile? A: No, each user must have their own authentication profile, for each supplier
